Position Summary

MMSA Dequindre seeks a dedicated, student-centered High School Mathematics Teacher to teach Algebra I and Algebra II for the 2026–2027 school year.

We utilize the Reveal Math curriculum alongside ALEKS and IXL as aligned supplemental tools to support mastery and measurable growth. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong content expertise, structured classroom leadership, and a belief that all students can meet high academic expectations when supported with clarity and consistency.

This educator will deliver standards-aligned instruction grounded in the Michigan Mathematics Standards, cultivate a focused and accountable classroom culture, and contribute meaningfully to our data-driven instructional model.

Ongoing support is provided through structured coaching and collaborative planning.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in Algebra I and Algebra II
  • Design high-quality lesson plans incorporating differentiation and scaffolding
  • Use assessment data to monitor progress and adjust instruction strategically
  • Maintain high expectations for student behavior and academic performance
  • Build consistent, professional relationships with students and families
  • Communicate regularly with parents via phone and email
  • Implement IEPs, 504 plans, and intervention strategies in collaboration with support staff
  • Integrate Reveal Math, ALEKS, and IXL into daily instruction
  • Participate actively in coaching cycles and content-team collaboration
  • Maintain accurate grading, attendance, and assessment records
  • Administer district and state assessments with fidelity
  • Supervise students during transitions and school-day activities to ensure safety and order

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Deep understanding of high school mathematics content, particularly Algebra I and II
  • Strong instructional design and differentiation skills
  • Ability to analyze student performance data and implement targeted action plans
  • Comfort integrating instructional technology into daily practice
  • Classroom management rooted in fairness, structure, and consistency
  • Clear and professional communication with students, families, and colleagues
  • Strong organizational habits and professional accountability
  • Growth-oriented mindset and openness to feedback

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education, Mathematics, Secondary Education (Math concentration), or related field
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with EX (Mathematics) endorsement required
  • Minimum of two years of successful classroom teaching experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to student achievement
  • Master’s degree preferred

Candidates must hold valid Michigan certification prior to the start of the 2026–2027 school year.
